no, as for the most part its from the EU.
But that is surely what the Brexteers want: fewer European migrants who we are not related to, and more from the Asian subcontinent, where people have lots of extended family ties. That is how Farage managed to woo many Asian voters at the referendum.
surely we should be getting rid of failed asylum seekers, and those undesirable foreign people who commit crimes in this country.
we could end up losing some very specialised people, as shown on BBC news last night. admittedly there was only two featured but one worked for NHS, where we can't afford to lose people.

.........to 230,000!
we don't need more Asian people. not extended families who are a drain on services, as they tend to have bigger families.
not exactly the tens of thousands one was expecting..
230 thousand, ummm

It's still quite a way off the government's stated target, yes. But it is also the largest decline in a single year for an extremely long time.
Or about 56,000 new dwellings if we use an average of 4 per household.
Okay, this is going to ruffle some feathers...

We are all human. We all live on this earth. We constructed boundaries, unrightly so if you ask me. If such boundaries existed before our evolution we would all still be stood in Africa! Who are we to decide who 'comes in and out' of a country in a world that belongs to all of us?

Emmie: //undesirable foreign people who commit crimes in this country// What about the 'locals' that commit crimes? Shall we deport them too?

Ichkeria: //fewer European migrants who we are not related to// I have French family coming over for Christmas, shall I tell them they aren't allowed in?

Emmie: //not extended families who are a drain on services// They should have insurance yes, it's arguably our fault for not enforcing it... that shouldn't mean they aren't allowed in?

Call me cynical, but I have a funny feeling it will suddenly turn out to have never been about that at all and Farage will be horrendously offended that anyone would ever suggest he would say such a thing and that the media is once again lying about him and we should all stop paying attention to the liberal conspiracy media and-

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
sorry but we're full to brimming and more arriving every day. I am for letting in people who have something to offer, but we can't keep on taking in when ALL our services are overloaded.
its just not practical.
anthro nerd would you open your house to refugees?

Erm, assuming every one of them settles long-term (genuinely long-term, not the way the home office defines it), yes. That's rather a big assumption though.
"Ichkeria: //fewer European migrants who we are not related to// I have French family coming over for Christmas, shall I tell them they aren't allowed in? "

I think you missed the delicate satire in there anthro :-)
When the Conservatives came to power in 2010, Labour left them net immigration at less than 200,000. So these ‘improved’ figures are considerably higher than the last ‘failed’ Labour Government.

How do you know? What's Britain's maximum population?
Emmie, absolutely yes I would. People looking for help? People needing somewhere safe? Is that not what we did in WW2 with evacuated children? Getting them away from the danger and to the safety of the countryside?

And I agree they need insurance as that's the way the world works and otherwise the NHS will struggle even more, but I don't think the answer is shutting the door.

It's a sad day for humanity when we close the door on our own people/species etc.
Overview of the UK population - Office for National Statistics
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/populationandmigration/po...
21 Jul 2017 - Main points. In 2016 the population of the UK was 65.6 million, its largest ever. The UK population is projected to continue growing, reaching over 74 million by 2035

At what point do we reach the "full" mark?
Kromo - we never will. If it gets to the point of over overcrowding, some bigger force like disease steps in and wipes out part of the population. Not saying that's ideal of course, but that's the way it works.
The fall could be due to brilliant Government policy finally paying off. Or it could be our failing economy is the reason.

// Britain has fallen from the top to the bottom of the league of G7 leading economies in the year since the Brexit vote, with official data on Friday showing slower growth than previously thought. //
