maybe you are right, but i would hazard a guess that if 14 questions were put to the British publish of a similar ilk you may get some strange answers.
Flying to America There were a party of students returning from Israel. I got talking to a group of them, and the subject came up where I was from. I said Wales. None of them knew where it was. Is that a superb of London one asked. On another ocasion, I was talking to a guy in a bar. He asked where I was from On my reply he said, I’ve been there,working on a submarine base. I said don’t you mean Portsmouth or maybe Glasgow in Scotland. No he said it was Wales defiantly It was by the Sea.
Eddie....in a country where 50% of people believe that cavemen chased dinosaurs for their lunch, about 6000 years ago, and 50% believe that Aliens have landed somewhere in America ( probably the same 50% ! )
than this can't be seen as surprising in any way.
i dont think americans are thick - but then i wouldn't (i don't know half those answers either). is number 9 suggesting America was responsible for the Holocaust>?

bednobs, I read it as saying a % of Americans think the USA was responsible for the Holocaust, not suggesting they actually are.
perhaps ED can compile 14 facts for us to have a go at and see how well we do.
When I visited California, about 14 years ago, I met some lovely ladies at the site of the Redwood tree you can drive through. When I explained that I was English, from Yorkshire they thought hard and came up with the name of a friend who lived in Belgium, in case I'd heard of her.. Bless!
Favourite remarks made by Americans to us whilst travelling - 'you have summer when we have winter, right?', and the best of all, 'you drove here, all the way from England?'

Telling Americans we were from the North of England we were often asked Oh you mean Scart-land.
I remember some years ago there was a vote on the greatest Briton. Churchill came top, rightly so, followed by Brunel and some very notable politicians and game changers.
The Americans voted Ronald Reagan as the greatest American...says it all, really.
