/// Blackamoor is genre of art or jewellery showing men and women with black skin ///

So? There really are some men and women who happen to have a black skin.

Surely the lives of this young couple are not going to be blighted with this sort of ridiculousness?

What are you saying white people shouldn't wear a brooch displaying a black person?
-- answer removed --
I wonder why she wore it though ...
what a load of pony
Should've worn a Robertson golly broach and given them something to whisper about.
A swastika is symbolic of the Nazi regime. An artistic representation of someone with black skin is not. The comparison is ridiculous and odious.
I think it was a thoughtless thing to do.
I hope it was thoughtless, poor choice though, and really ugly .
What is ugly about it? Are you calling black people ugly?
dannyk, "them" is the people I referred to in my post, one of whom was at the same lunch as Princess Pushy. (The princess's own parentage is of course impeccable, her father was an SS officer.)
No jack, I'm not calling anyone ugly. ( I think you know that though ) :-)
'I think it was a thoughtless thing to do.'

I think it was well thought out. Odious woman.
I agree with Tilly. Nobody chooses their jewellery by mistake, least of all royals and pseudo royals.
Of course they don't choose by mistake. They choose because they see it as a pleasant looking piece of jewelry. Inferring more is in the minds of those who see issues they are looking for. There's no evidence of any deliberately offensive action, but just of offense taken by those who complained.
I also agree with Tilly, totally intentional. That was her covert sign of disapproval, and I bet she's relishing the *** storm it's caused, nasty piece of work that she is.
For crying out loud, when is this grand stupidity going to end?
when royalty is abolished, NoM. Until then we have to put up with what, in a few cases, are their nasty little ways. (Most of them I have no problem with.)
Has anyone suggested she brooched royal protocol yet?
"I agree with Tilly. Nobody chooses their jewellery by mistake, least of all royals and pseudo royals."

Are you serious?

What you are suggesting is that the brooch was purposely chosen as a passive aggressive way of showing displeasure that Harry's intended is half black.

Mate, you need to take a break from the computer and stop reading conspiracy sites.
