Morrissey And 'no Go' Areas Of Europe.
On a recent thread, I pasted in a quote by him stating how within Europe there are places which for non-Muslims are "No go areas" (It was only one among a collection of quotes) I actually apart from vaguely having heard the name, knew nothing at all about the man, but have now rectified that;
https:/ /en.wik ipedia. org/wik i/Morri ssey Quite an impressive career, and I find a fellow Mancunian.
Without any evidence to the contrary, his assertion has been dismissed on that thread by more than one person, seemingly because he is who he is !?
To support what he said, may I ask if any woman, wearing normal western clothing with uncovered hair (let alone wearing any form of make-up) would be happy to walk through the suburb of say, Paris-Seine-Saint Denis in the daytime, let alone at night, and could an orthodox Jewish man wearing his required kippah - the small skull cap worn by Jews to fulfil the requirements that the head be covered, and is worn by men in Orthodox communities- enter certain areas of some European cities, Berlin and Cologne for example, and was the statement wrong?

// In an interview with German newspaper Die Spiegel, he said: “I want Germany to be German. I want France to be French.
“If you try to make everything multicultural, you will not have any culture in the end.
“All European countries have fought for their identity for many, many years.
“But I'm sad that Berlin has become the rape capital… because of the open borders.” //

andy-hughes, I addressed Morrissey’s comments earlier in the thread. I don’t, however, believe that the situation we have in Europe should be judged solely on his opinion because him being who and what he is allows some to grasp the opportunity to detract from the real issue, hence my further response at 09:29.
SP at 09:33, but that isn’t what we’re talking about – and one doesn’t negate the other anyway.
ichkeria, I haven’t told anyone to leave Morrissey out but see my comment above to andy-hughes.

ichkeria - // Of course you can leave Morrissey out of it. He isn't the only one saying the same thing. //
OK, let's leave Paris out of it as well, since the issue occurs in other cities, and let's leave Khandro out of it, because other people have raised the point (without Morrisey as a distraction) and let's leave The Answerbank out of it because there are other sites probably carry the same debate.
How far do you want to go in adjusting the OP to be something other than that it is?

there should be no places where one cannot go, certainly not in our capital, sadly i suspect that there are and they centre around areas with large Muslim populations, as a born and raised Londoner i see the difference in areas now, where i wouldn't go, they were never a threat before, perhaps its a perceived threat more than the actuality, but those pictures of small Muslim groups threatening people going about their business shouldn't ever happen. The police should be the ones patrolling the streets to combat this and crime in general.
plenty of other evidence if you need it to tell you that these gangs are rife.

That actually was exactly my point Naomi: but seeing as how we might as well give up trying to avoid the man, I am puzzled because khandro has not provided the actual quote from Morrissey, whom he seems never to have heard of anyway.
All very odd.

That Morrissey tweet in full:
Celebrating my birthday in Manchester as news of the Manchester Arena bomb broke. The anger is monumental.
For what reason will this ever stop?
Theresa May says such attacks "will not break us", but her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues. Also, "will not break us" means that the tragedy will not break her, or her policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken - thanks all the same, Theresa. Sadiq Khan says "London is united with Manchester", but he does not condemn Islamic State - who have claimed responsibility for the bomb. The Queen receives absurd praise for her 'strong words' against the attack, yet she does not cancel today's garden party at Buckingham Palace - for which no criticism is allowed in the Britain of free press. Manchester mayor Andy Burnham says the attack is the work of an "extremist". An extreme what? An extreme rabbit?
In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private. Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The people have no such protections. //
