We have a health care system that cares for the sick but there's not an endless pot of money.
We have a benefits system that helps those that fall on hard times or who are incapable of looking after themselves but there's not an endless pot of money.
We have a pension system that means people don't actually have to work until the day they die but there's not and endless pot of money.
We have other systems and organisations that support the socialist principles.
BUT like anyone with something they look around and want a bit more and a bit more. Much the same way I imagine that having a TV isn't enough now. It has to be the latest, HD flat screen with surround sound and all that bowliax. A phone isn't enough. It has to be the latest speediest gadget with all the wizzbangs to go with it. And of course the list goes on.
There comes a point when someone has to pay the piper. There comes a point when all your promises are unattainable because you will be giving away more than you can generate. And where I think most governments work on the never never. There has to be a stop somewhere. That becomes more and more difficult when you have given so much away because who wants the Garvey train to end?
The accusation of snouts in troughs really does seem much more appropriate to the general public than any of our governing body.
But give it a few years of Momentum calling the shots and see how far we sink.

Yes Jack...0% MPs in Wales, in 1997 and now only 20% in 2017....ie 8 MPs. ....Labour has 28. By the way, the Tories lost 3 MPs in between 2015 and 2017 !
Still not very popular though, are they ?
Cassa....."We have a health care system that cares for the sick"
Really ?
So why are 50,000 operations being cancelled, people are being treated in Ambulances, in the Hospital car parks and some people are actually dying because of the chaotic situation ?

mikey because the social system we have in operation for the NHS isn't managed properly, waste by the bucket load, billions poured into a system that has no choice but to deal with a lot more people than 5 or 10 years ago.
I looked at one of the threads recently and 2 billion is owed to the NHS by health tourists, one man had a serious condition was treated and left behind a bill of over half a million.. he went back to Nigeria considerably healthier than he arrived. The list is endless, the NHS is a bottomless pit, and money pours into and out of it, like fleas on a dog.

Because the people "managing" it are inept.
I take it, Mikey, you're quite happy with the situation with the NHS in Wales. There, of course, responsibility for health is devolved to the Welsh Assembly where Labour hold 29 of the 60 seats. I imagine it must be streets ahead of the "chaos" that is evident in England. But then I've read that Welsh people are decamping across the border for treatment in England so perhaps I'm wrong.
No, the quality of healthcare is not dependent on the colour of the government. It depends on the quality of the management. Any business that gets taken by surprise by a regularly occurring annual event is badly managed.
