Yet another one falsely accused, and evidence held back by the Police and yet she enjoys anonymity whilst his reputation is tarnished forever (You will always get the idiotic no smoke no fire brigade)
Heads need to start rolling.

In the case of this poor young man, I hope Plod is urgently interviewing his accuser as we type, although I shan't be at all surprised if she gets off scot-free.

The police can be very impressive but too much of the time are found to be lazy, arrogant, complacent, disorganised and uninterested.
As to anonimity for women, it flies in the face of 'equality' requirements in every other field and is an affront to justice.
If I was this poor beggar I'd be down the printers supervising production of posters to shame the evil, lying witch.

The gist of the problem is that the police are not disclosing information to the defence. And that probably results in a better successful prosecution in the past (because the prosection was cheating).
We are hearing about these cases because phone messages have two trails, one sent and one receiving. So the failure to reveal the evidence of the messages was easy to detect.
It makes you wonder how much evidence in other cases other than rape, are not being revealed.
If the system is unjust, then that is a very serious problem, and needs to be rectified urgently.

Ergo, more people falsely accused and large ones all round for the boys and girls in the bubble. Protect the accusers at all costs they are your livelihood.

dannyk, we don't know that the evidence was deliberately withheld. It's just as likely that it was overlooked. Remember that police have to wade through vastly more evidence than they used to, with tweets, text messages and FB posts greatly increasing the burden; but there are fewer police to do it. It's inevitable that things will go wrong.
