This is unbelievable !

"He said when he told a shop assistant he had Parkinson's, she replied: "I don't care what you've got, I want you to leave the store."

The story does seem to have been fairly comprehensively reported, so while I sometimes feel something may have gone unreported, there's simply no evidence that this is the case here. Man comes over a bit funny and is ordered out of the shop, his son tries to explain and is ignored ... Unless you're prepared to posit, on no grounds at all, that he assaulted or...

I have.
Tilly, if it didn't happen as reported why have Halfords apologised?
It's the easiest thing to do, danny.
If that's what was said, then of course Halfords will, quite rightly, apologies. What I would like to know is what circumstances led to that being said.

A shop assistant is not going to walk blithely up to a customer and say, 'You walk funny, get out of the shop.'
Naomi, that might be, but by apologising they have accepted that the salesperson was at fault.
I wonder why they didn't also mention that disciplinary action had been taken (if indeed it has). I accept it could just be that they accept their training was wholly inadequate. Or i could be that there is more to teh story but they decided the best policy is to apologise and let it blow over rather than go into details that could have legal implications. We just don't know.
danny, it's the easiest option. I agree with Tilly.

Danny....I would give up if I were you !
I just think that if the salesperson had a valid reason for her actions then Halford's would have supported her.
They have supported her in the sense that as far as we know she hasn't been sacked. Maybe they just feel she could have been more careful in her choice of words but that she was right to ask him to leave. We will probably never know. I wonder if the family have accepted the apology or will take it further?
danny, Perhaps Halfords have supported the sales assistant privately. As has been said there’s no mentioned of disciplinary action having been taken and as Tilly said a shop assistant is not going to walk blithely up to a customer and say, 'You walk funny, get out of the shop.' It makes no sense.
Naomi, she obviously thought that he was acting suspiciously, but what her suspicions were we will probably never know.
No, I don't suppose we will, danny.
I wonder if she was a member of the security staff?
Have we finished with this now? I'm off out for a walk. Bye!
// What evidence is there that even suggests there is another side to this story? // s/o earlier

a thousand years of history - hear the other side

[remember acts of attainder - [nope what dey den?] - they went out as the defendant wasnt given a chance to reply. Connected to 'impeachment' - " er what dat den den?" - answer: its something they gonna do to Zuma later on this week. - - - [who he den? ] - where you do get a chance to defend yourself.

sorry two thousand years history
audi alteram partem - hear the other side - erm Justinian I think

are we discussing " if someone admits it happened - then it happened " ? by the usual suspects

hey roll up the christians ! - they say Christ rose on the third say so it really occurred - christ rose on the third day.
Close the body n spirit thread !
think Lobs theorem !

just saying......erm normal day on AB - PP shies away crouching like a frequently beaten dog
// I wonder if she was a member of the security staff?//
no he had a funny walk and the member of staff wondered if he had something stuffed down his trarsers

( why yes he had, hur hur hur )

I was eying up the gap between a shop asst and a shopper who were going thirteen to the dozen - hoping to get between the champion yakkers without brushing them and getting one liners like - "oops excuse you!"

and they of course thought I was earwigging their stupid gossip - so the shop assistant .....

I can well imagine a shop asst thinking she was sherlock holmes
she should have been dismissed on the spot, stupid woman.
There's not always more to a story ... Power mad uncouth, uncaring idiot is a definite possibility.
It's always a possibility, but it also may not be.

Trial by media, lets get rid of expensive juries and judges right now and let the Grundian decide.
