I get the impression that although on the surface a very good idea. Let the members thrash out ideas and be democratic BUT I do rather get the impression that it is Remainers that are spearheading this and getting the support THEY want.

Ker, unions, grassroots members (aka Momentum). I bet if they get a working party it will be with a very big majority of Remainers.

Well, as Open Britain was set up just after the referendum result and is openly pro-EU I think you should have more than an ‘impression’.

Well of course Zac I was being polite for once.

It is plain to anyone that it is only the Remainers who want us to stay in or be slightly out paying vast sums of money for little if any benefit without a say and it is only the Remainers committed to that who are trying to influence proceedings in an meaningful way.

Perhaps there should be two working parties in the Labour ranks. One remain and one leave and see if the two can meet in the middle. I doubt it.

You don't need a link. Paying vast sums is a condition of membership which is why we voted 'Out' to save ourselves £350m per week.

I do need a link to explain where cassa has been given the impression that some remainers want to be ‘slightly out’ and still pay membership fees. I certainly haven’t seen anyone saying that’s what they wanted.

I am surprised that Momentum are in favour of the EU. I thought that they were strictly anti-capitalist. Don't forget that in the 1983 election it was official Labour policy to leave the EU (or EC as it then was).

It was the EEC, to be accurate. It didn’t become the EC until it was incorporated into the EU in 1993.
