Dreadful News - Warning

Have just had a call from Mikey's sister - and appalling news - unfortunately, he has passed away and at a relatively young age (well under 65), a massive heart attack as I understand.

Mikey was passionate, I think we can all agree with that. He wasn't my cup of tea politically but on that we had some fun with a few crazy bets - he will turn wherever he is on the 150 quid I cleaned up by betting on Cameron winning by 10-15 seats. He probably wasn't the flavour of the day for many on here but, rightly or wrongfully, he believed in his cause and the roots he came from.

I met Mikey, I guess four or five times down here, different locations, all involving a few drinks in a local hostelry and I can say that he had a rich sense of humour, almost of Welsh proportions though he wasn't a Taff, and he was inquisitive, curious and considerate of others.

I don't know what has happened to his 'Willy', his Yprkie terrier, but I bet that he is missing his master this evening - and I am sure that many of us wil also be on hearing this terrible news, be we right or left wing or don't care about politics at all.....rest in peace, Mikey.

Wow, I am shocked indeed. Poor Mikey was so looking forward to getting his pension. It's quite upsetting to hear this. My condolences to Mikey's family. Bless you Mikey, sleep well.

I disagreed with his politics but I really liked him. He was worried how he was going to cope when wee Willy died as he was now about 16.

He has been unwell but this is a total shock. I will really miss him - he was sometimes like a Jack Russel with a bone but only because he was a caring chap.
