A Day's Silence In Memory Of Mikey4444
58 Answers
I am so devastated over the news of the death of Mikey, that I will no longer be posting on AB today.
More of a day's silence one might say.
RIP Mikey old chap.

I don't think I will ever tire of seeing the warmth that people express for those who, when alive, they did not always see eye to eye with. In death we should be brought together and I for one am grateful to see the tributes for Mikey pouring in from across AB regardless of what people thought about his views and opinions.
See you tomorrow, AOG, and may your own tributes not go unnoticed.

I’m pretty sure by how his character was he’d like us to carry on and if a crazy debate amongst far right wingers vs “limp wristed muesli crunching hand wringing lefties” that he’ll be looking down at us laughing.
This isn’t the 1st poster online that I’ve lost and unfortunately won’t be the last
:(
Let’s have a fiery debate in memory of Mikey instead, as I guess that’s what he would’ve wanted.

I didn't know Mikey (the man at the keyboard) at all, and - as I'm now realising in the tribute threads - only knew "mikey4444" through his News contributions, when he was very active in other areas of the site. I had no idea he was an opera lover.
So, to be honest I'd feel a bit odd commemorating him with a day of non-posting. But I understand that you did have quite a unique relationship with him AOG as a sparring partner and it's only natural to need some kind of ritual when someone dies.
