Does Ben Bradley Have Any Future In The Tory Party After His Embarrassing Antics?
Answers
On another thread here I recently said I hoped Mr Corbyn would take legal action against Bradley for his claim, for which he had not a shred of evidence. Later I was delighted to note that Mr Corbyn had, indeed, done just that. Now I am even more pleased to see that Bradley has been compelled to offer a grovelling apology. The icing on the cake is the fact that the...

Have labour asked for that?
Personally I think he should step down. You cannot go around posting unsubstantiated claims like that.
On the other hand it would help if COB participated in an inquiry, which if as he says he is not guilty of any wrong doing, would put this matter to bed. Refusing to do so is always going to lead to people thinking he has something to hide.

The Sun article was quickly debunked, so posting lies based on it was always going to end in tears.
I had never heard of Mr Bradley before, so I cannot comment on his parliamentary career, or whether he deserves to keep it. Based on this incident, you have to wonder about his judgement.
Probably not a resigning issue, but a bit of an own goal for his party.

Alas, he is probably just a typical young person - apologies, kvalidir, I know you're not all like that, but it is quite common: see some complete balderdash, think "Wow, the world must hear this!" and instantly fire off tweets that make the original lies seem even more scandalous.
You'd like to think the political classes would by their nature come from people who were more cautious and showed some signs of adult judgment. But this is probably wishful thinking. They come from people who want power.
I expect Labour would prefer him to remain where he is, always a potential embarrassment to his party.

Now I am even more pleased to see that Bradley has been compelled to offer a grovelling apology. The icing on the cake is the fact that the Labour Party is to give some of the money he was obliged to pay to a charity to go to a food-bank in his constituency! His idea about the poor, you see, was that they should be sterilised to stop them having children, apparently unaware of where similar "solutions" had been applied by a right-wing party to problems in the past!
