But as I said on another thread (but can't find it now), the chemical fingerprint of these things can pinpoint the place and date of manufacture and there is a list, probably with the UN or something, of where it all is.
At some point it will have or perhaps already has been checked. If it is a new manufactured strain done on the qt might make it a bit trickier.

as you say the chemical manufacture can be traced back to source, Russia, this isnt over yet by any means.
tit for tat expelling of diplomats, Mrs May should have sent the whole lot packing, never mind a week to pack up and leave they should be booted out now.

I am only guessing, but I would assume Government scientists at Porton Down would replicate any chemical agent they got to know about, to learn its properties and possible defences against it.
It is not impossible that the British manufactured some Novochik.
Saying that, it is unlikely that British Secret Agents got some and used it in a black or false flag operation. A Russian Government backed attack, or a renegade operation are far more likely.

That's their approach to everything. They lie. They get trolls to repeat the lies and eventually those lies get greater circulation, and people start to challenge reliable sources of data, until none of knows what to believe any more.
Insidious, anti-democratic and ultimately (probably) successful.

Thing is, the agent (from what we know) is a binary agent. Two relatively innocuous pre-cursors are mixed together to create the deadly agent.
(Guessing here, but) those pre-cursors are less easy to trace than a full-blown nerve agent.
Let's wait until independent agencies have had the opportunity to look at the evidence from all sides, because let's honest, none of us (me included) know any more than the government wants us to know.

Apart from the perpetrator(s) and any collaborator(s), nobody is likely to know exactly whodunnit. In the UK it is possible (although I would not assume it) that investigators know more than is in the public domain, and (as already said) the source of the poison may lie outside Russia. I would not rule out British involvement in the deed although I would like to think it unlikely and, one way or other, Russia certainly seems likely to be behind this - for which they can really only blame themselves because of their acquired "form". Maybe the real truth will eventually come out, although doubt is likely to linger forever because nobody will admit to their part in this. Also, the truth is likely to be massaged for public consumption and advantage on both sides of the current stand-off.
The repetition of an untruth until it gets believed by the majority of those hearing it has been going on forever, not least within the UK.
