the bleeding ***, vaginally, nose, the migraines, the rashes (legs and mons), lock up of the ankles and knees.

Now diagnosed as Lyme's disease, a doc with experience of the London School of Tropical identifying it, supported by one other consultant and a Mr.....next stage, bloods going up for an Elisa test and spot test to identify the strain.

Big punch up from Gastric - and intervention by one of the Heads of Units (Cardiology).....as they have been calling her psycho in public and hadn't taken any action, even their nurses thinking and treating it as Lymes. Now on a course of co-amoxiclav. I don't expect hossie docs to know everything in the body but what I do expect is that if something comes over your bows, you are open to some research and looking to understand it, not taking an arrogant attitude - and we even had one Gastric poo-pooing the Mayo Clinic work that showed the linkages to rheumatology. Frankly, they haven't got their knitting together to an incoming case as it is so 'multidisciplinary' in its debilitating nature - but I would lead on the most prevalent symptom and then bring in the others as needed.....

Apparently there was a small explosion when the Senior Cardio (on quality control) found out that no one had done bloods for Lymes and even an ultrascan - this nearly 3 days after she had been admitted with suspected pneumonia and a kidney infection. The Cardio took the blood out of their hands and has placed it with the GP who was asked to contact the Microbiologist and bloods to be tested offsite this week.

In actual fact, although GMEB is not my scene, I have indeed been watching developments on those threads.
