/// There is no mention in the article of this person being Asian or a Muslim. ///

Now there's another surprise these days.

All we are told is this:
"A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and assaulting a police officer"

Now for some reason if he was a white Christian fella I think we may have been told.

Plod and the Establishment do themselves no favours by hiding such details.
Do you work for Manchester Police then Spath?

You can't say 'loony' here. You must say 'experiencing mental health issues'.
Many of us are in possession of bladed articles, but we tend to keep them in the kitchen or the garden shed. Hasn't realised that was illegal.

I apologise but I thought that your statement needed a little editing.

/// You know people can lash out at authority's 'WITH A THREE FOOT SWORD' without religious or political
agendas? ///
spath, like the rest of us you don't know what he is.

It's not, but this fellow decided to take one on a public street threatening people, now that is illegal.
If he has mental issues, shouldn't we be wishing him well?

And I think totally discounting the possibility that he could be a terrorist is a poor way to discuss this. In any discussion all options should be open.
-- answer removed --
naomi, I don't think anyone is discounting the possibility that it could be linked to terrorism,we just don't know.
I suppose it depends upon what you mean by 'terrorist'. I would define any guy running around the street wielding a sword as such. It would terrify me.
What I was trying to say is that you don't have to have a political or religious agenda to terrify people.
Fair enough AOG but, the article says arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, not waving a bladed article at folk in the street.

/// Yes but only having one option in the OP is bias. ///

You are wrong once again, I did in fact give two options:

A Terrorist Incident Or Just Another Day In 21St Century Britain?
danny, //naomi, I don't think anyone is discounting the possibility that it could be linked to terrorism,//

Spath at 10:22 is.

I agree that we don't know - as I've already said.
