TBH with Labours level of hatred of Jews I am surprised they took his £1.5m in the first place.

correct and Labour will now be getting less of it.
Serves them right. I remember back in the 60s the Labour council of Newcastle was dominated by the Jewish population, who, whilst living in the leafy suburbs, were parachuted into deprived wards. I don't remember any great problem.
David Gerrard was a buddy of Blairs jewish mates Lord Levy and Peter Mandalson. It was Levy who secure the loan (which became a donation).
This Property Developer didn’t suddenly become altruistic for the working man, the real reason for the donation was to buy a peerage to the Lords. All was going fine until the Cash for Questions scandal, and poor David had to withdraw his nomination. He quit the Labour Party 3 years ago, so he was unlikely to be making anymore donations anyway.
Anti-semitism coming out again, Gromit. Your tone is offensive. Just like you were on another earlier post.
And it’s Mandelson, Gromit. At least spell the name correctly though it won’t excuse your prejudice.
More on Sir David Gerrard.

// John Prescott gave the go-ahead for a firm of developers to build an enormous shopping centre months after the owners of the company secretly gave Labour a £3.3 million loan.
Sir David Garrard and Andrew Rosenfeld, the "Minerva Two", won the backing of the Deputy Prime Minister, to build a £500 million retail centre in Croydon, south London, which will become one of the country's 10 biggest shopping malls. //

// Sir David is expected to undergo a televised grilling this week by MPs on the Commons public accounts committee over his role in the loans-for-peerages affair.
Last night, Peter Kilfoyle, the former Labour defence minister, said the Minerva revelations made the Government and the Labour Party look "desperately seedy". //

Looks as though he should have been expelled by the Labour aparty years ago.

Pecunia non olet, as Vespasian told his son, who didn't like the idea of a urine tax.
But you have to admit, (never mind the wilder rumours,) at the moment the Labour Party seems to be rather eagerly weaving its own shroud.
Labour seems well shut of him.
