Have The Trump Haters Wrecked Our Chances With The Usa?
36 Answers
Seems President Macron has managed to put aside his, quite considerable, differences and diplomatically engage President Trump.
Why do we pamper to the likes of small minded Khan and the other Trump haters and allow our country to potentially put at a disadvantage? The Donald is just one man who, at present, is the elected head of millions surely we should be looking ahead 20 - 50 years and working out our relationship with the country not the POTUS?

Like him or not, he is the president of the USA, and we should have the dignity (and the common sense) to treat him as such. Only days ago Sadiq Khan said that when Trump comes to London he //should expect 'loud, but peaceful protests' from a city that respects, embraces and celebrates diversity//. in effect encouraging demonstrations. Khan et al are an embarrassment. Stupid people.

Oddly enough, I first read the report in either a London paper or a National – but that in the Belfast Telegraph is the only one I can see now.

We engaged with Mugabe and he was 100 times worse.
How easy is it to shmooze DT? Will he be won over by the adulation and fawning Macron? And did they have the hand holding pissing contest that Trump had with Putin?
If we put up too many 'personal' barriers he will eventually get bored and go elsewhere. Like him or not he holds a few trading cards we could doing with sniffling up.
But let's not get reality in the way of fantasy land.

When Trump went to Paris last year, thousands took to the streets to protest - even erecting ‘No Trump Zones’.
This apparently has not had an impact on US/Franco relationships. It would appear that the Trump supporters here, in an effort to make a point, have failed to do some basic research.
Unimpressive.

You will always get such protests from the 'nasty left' our leaders should not kowtow to the likes of them and offer the hand of welcoming friendship to the most powerful leader of the World.

lol, it's all Sadiq's fault. Perhaps, instead, it should be the prime minister's decision?
If he's scared of Londoners, that's easily fixed: the meeting could be held somewhere hundreds of miles north of the capital, out in the open where intruders can be easily spotted, and with sporting opportunities. Surely his mother's compatriots would keep a warm welcome for him? And I'm sure May would like the chance to play a round with him. What think you, douglas?

No it is not ALL Khans fault I pulled him out as one example, hence "Khan and the other Trump haters" but hey dont let what I actually write get in the way of a dig eh?
Yes the French left did protest but the Government of France ignored them. As we have weak May and useless Corbyn who both seem to think leading is just pleasing we have now been left out. I see this as a snub to us.
Douglas, no one is looking for respect and tolerance of Mr Trump, I am suggesting we should have respect for the office of POTUS regardless of who is the current incumbent. I couldn't stand Barry but never in a million years would I consider protesting against a visit from him, that is just plain stupid.
