Amongst my mates, she pretty much elicits indifference (as does the wedding itself)...so why is there so much animosity shown to her here?

From what I have read re Diana, Palace Officials (whatever their titles are) interviewed her Family and close friends to ascertain that she had not had any long term or intimate relationships.

Obviously only to the best of their knowledge.

That approach was soon dropped as evidenced by the fact that William and Kate for example lived together before their marriage.

I haven't read the thread yet. I didn't know she was unpopular- you have to know someone very well to actually dislike them. There might be some cynicism as she is an American actress. I wish them all the best and reckon about 5 years.

Harry is a Royal...a special club representing millions of people throughout the Commonwealth and this Club has special advantages, rules of engagement and directions of etiquette and procedure.

Perhaps these may be difficult to attain, but breeding does help although does not guarantee.
Meghan doesn't have that background of breeding.
