1/ Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton was murdered in Southwark on Saturday evening
2/ Three men were doused with 'noxious substance' in Hackney at 5am on Sunday
3/ Two boys, 13 and 15, were shot minutes apart at 1pm in Harrow, north London
4/ A 22-year-old man rushed to hospital in Lewisham after being shot at 6pm
5/ A 43-year-old man was stabbed in Perivale at 9pm after a dispute about driving
But there is hope, at last the Met has decided to take some action, I do hope it doesn't upset the communities too much.
/// The Met is to send out extra patrols and increase 'stop and search' today after a bloody crime wave of shootings including the murder of a 17-year-old and one drive-by attack where a 13-year-old was gunned in the head but survived. ///

I taught in Southwark for 20 years...and I saw many parents who found it hard to carry out basic parenting stuff...such as give their child food before and after school, keep an eye on homework, put a limit on time out of the home ...do not get me wrong, there is a total mixture of parents but for some it is hard and they do not have parents themselves to help them. Many are very far from the family support networks that many of our own parents had.
I went into Croydon shopping centre earlier and on my way to the bus stop I walked past a man surrounded by police shouting something along the lines of "it was only 2 inches, man"!
Seconds later I walked past a group of girls screaming and shouting at another girl whilst shoving her and the same police and the guy that was surrounded all diverted their attention to the girls.
There is quite a lot of police presence in Croydon especially after school.

/// I just find it sad that when a white person is killed, you don't care. You're only interested when black and Asian lads are killed. ///
Who says I don't care, but one has to be careful especially if a black or Asian person kills a white person, one could be labelled as racist if one protested, but there have been many such incidents, but they don't get the same coverage as the Stephen Lawrence case.
