It's grossly unfair to suggest that anyone who wonders how she is going to do this is spiteful or uncaring. She has no job, no obvious qualifications and nowhere of her own to live - of course she's done a great thing in adopting them but the facts of how she is going to support them financially need consideration and you have to be pretty well off to bring up 4...

When she and the children get back to the UK it looks as if it will be 5 more souls for the Taxpyer to support, but be fair, it's only 5, we'll hardly notice them amongst all the rest with their noses in the trough.
Baldric, and others, may I ask you how you know she won't be supporting her family herself...many single parents do without state help.....I did...x

And may I ask why you're so sure she will support them herself
I can no more be sure that she will than you can that she won't....but looking at the way she and her family have lived their lives so far I'm more than willing to help her.
Oh and thanks, Zacs.....I think some don't read all the facts before jumping to a conclusion......x
Her situation is not really different from someone who had kids abroad with someone, divorced and wanted to come back to the UK with them. She is going to live with relatives so presumably won't be needing a council house.
She could save herself a few quid by doing their visa applications herself rather than paying lawyers to do it though.
Her heart and intent might be in the right place but if she does return and qualifies for the same benefits for the children as UK kids have, then it creates a loophole for bringing folk here. It's yet another heart or head moral decision. Perhaps best if she adopted and brought them up where she currently is. Adoption ought not be allowed by folk who don't have legitimate resources to bring the child up, though.
Her situation is massively different from someone who had kids abroad with someone, divorced and wanted to come back to the UK with them. They're not her offsping, she adopted and want them to emigrate here.
Do you think she'll be able to land in the UK and claim JSA for example straight away?
Her plan was to stay there for ever, OG....sometimes things happen that are out of our control and, because she is no longer allowed to work, she is having to change her plans.....x
Zacs/Gness, I read it. I repeat, I won't be contributing.
Naomi.....I can't speak for Zacs...but I haven't asked you to contribute....I wouldn't expect you to.
Neither of us has said that we are the only two to have read the article..

Putting across my views doesn't mean they have to be agreed with....or that I'm expecting folk to change their minds....
They are just my views on Webbo's OP......so you don't need to keep repeating yourself.

Over to you......
I wish her all the luck in the world and have contributed.
Have those that have said 'why not adopt children from the UK' have you any idea what it takes to adopt a child from here? The heartbreak and the intrusion in to your life and your families lives?
Gness, my response was nothing to do with your views on this – or on your expectations of me. It is to Zacs at 12:16, and you at 12:37 …. just so you know.
I think we all know what will happen here.

Secondly we are not and can not be the Worlds saviour, we have too many issues of our own. Only today there is a march against austerity bringing additional children into the country 'through the back door' wont help at all. And where does it end?

Time will tell if she ends up on benefits but even if working the kids will need schooling, health care which will be met by the tax payer.
"...but I haven't asked you to contribute."

You don't have to, gness. I and every other taxpayer will be paying handsomely to support this brood should they land in the UK (and that's more "when" than "if").

I'm not prone to gambling, but I'd be prepared to give you £1 for every pound Ms Upshall earns from gainful employment when she returns here provided you give me £1 for every pound she receives in benefits. You could start with the sixty quid a week in Child Benefit she is likely to receive.
It's unlikely she'd qualify for Child Benefit immediately when she arrives in GB.
How awful to think that giving children a better life is a burden.

Should none of us have our own babies because they'll need schooling and medical care, too?
Corby don’t blind them with facts
