Margaret Thatchers leadership and negative attitudes towards Scotland was toxic but are the SNP not being similar with its dogmatic arrogant approach to Brexit and using indyref2 as a threat are they not alienating people in Scotland the way Thatcher did

You’ve been saying that for sometime now, but naebodys chibbed her so maybe your wrong
It is a wee bit surprising that a challenge hasn't come from the charismatic wing of the party.
Angela Constance maybe, or Mr Swinney could have another go. :-)

She's all they've got since Jowly Eck became a media darling.
didn't Scots vote against Brexit? If so, she's representing them.
steg.. only time...
Swinney might ?
but jno the argument you always use in England is that those that lost need representation too !
gordie, I must admit I am unsure of the way Scottish politics lie at ground level but surely there must be a large number of people supporting her or she wouldnt be in the position she is?
///steg.. only time...///
Aye, you need the tick tho, not just the talk
For most 'democratic' leaders it is only a matter of time!
and you think the opposite, ymb...

But the Remain vote in Scotland was 62%; in England it was 53.4%.

Personally, I always thought that for a constitutional vote of this significance, the threshold should have been 60-65% - in other words, there needed to be a big margin in favour of a change that would cause great upheaval. The Scots recorded one.
MM must have insider information we don't have . :-)
But I didnt write it down as an argument.
and..maybe I do Anne ?
We won’t have long to find out Anne

///she is teetering on the edge here now...I doubt that she will still be FM this time next year..daggers are being drawn behind closed doors I suspect...///
