Not looking good, will they turn it around or go the way of the rest of them?

Marks have lost the plot, so dowdy, or colours far too bright, too expensive, Far too much competition, in style, colour and price from other stores such as Zara, Mango etc.
They've had issues for a while. Lost the quality USP. A contraction may not be a bad thing, but it'll need more than just that to turn things about.
I'm not sure there's much of a future for anyone in the high street these days: councils raise rates to unaffordable levels while also consenting to malls being built. I don't know if they're deliberately conniving in destroying their own communities or just stupid, but it's all short lets, pound shops and popups in the heart of town these days.

Personally, clothes are one of the few items I prefer to buy in shops rather than online, because I want to try them on. But M&S doesn't seem to have a lot that I like these days. That's just my personal taste, but an awful llot of other people seem to think so too. Even my last lot of M&S knickers got tatty very quickly, and that was one of the products they used to be famous for.
I'd go for the 'just stupid' option.
maybe, douglas, but I wouldn't mind a quick look at councillors' bank statements befoe deciding.
Except for a few things, I find their clothing incredibly boring. The colours get more shocking each season. I used to like the "indigo" range...younger, more jeans and casual pretty tops. But they've discontinued it. Their jeans are good for me, but I buy them on eBay. The only clothes I get instore are bras and knickers.
The food hall is great, but sometimes overpriced.
I'll tell you when M&S
started going south

Yes my friends - it was when they stopped selling my favourite , buttered popcorn
The staff were always smartly dressed. Now they look like they're on loan from Sports Direct.
