Many people swear that A/C affects the nose and in my experience, this is true, but also, people who virtually live and sleep with A/C have no problems at all with the nose or throat.
I think that it may be a matter of susceptibility in that are sensitive to many environmental factors including sudden changes of temperature, emotion and allergy which is known as Vasomotor Rhinitis, which gives all the symptoms of the common cold, but without the virus being present.
These "vasomotor" folks are sitting ducks to such changes, but fortunately are in the minority.
There is no medical evidence that "wet hair " as such predisposes one to the common cold.
