Your serving with the regiment, the regiment is Not serving with you. Fall in line, or, fall out.

"he actually wanted to wear the bearskin headdress but his superiors forced him to wear his turban so as to make some kind of statement.

I know this to be true because I heard it from a Guardsman who served beside him."

"I am very proud to be a member of the Household Division and to be the first Sikh Guardsman to mount guard in a turban will be the best thing in my life, especially as a member of the Scots Guards.

The regiment is full of history, as is my religion."

Now, which statement is more likely to be believed?

It’s the end of civilisation as we know it ain’t it!
^I thought that was Brexit.
I know you did.
I know you know I did .....

.... but let's not go down that route again. ;o)
No.
The uniform is not, and never has been a part of tradition, otherwise most of the regiments would be wearing red coats and cocked hats. The British army uniforms have gone through many changes throughout the years.
danny, uniforms change, but they remain uniform.
Of course they do, but my point is that something gthat goes through so many changes cannot be called traditional.
Would I be tarred as racist if I said I was getting a bit Sikh of this?
Hmmmm... got my doubts about that danny.

douglas, probably. ;o)
It is traditional to wear the same uniform irrespective of how many changes it's gone through.

Not much change in 128 years eh?
I have no problem with it, it was once more a wonderful occasion and even a local fox got a look in.
Vulcan, exactly.
Well its over, no one died, no one was struck by lightening, I saw no signs of a peaceful or otherwise protest. Phew, what a fuss :-)
