U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced the withdrawal alongside Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, following multiple news reports that the move was imminent.
Haley blasted the council as a "cesspool of political bias" and accused the body of "politicizing and scapegoating countries with positive human rights records."
Haley has called for other reforms to the U.N. Human Rights Council, saying the group should make it easier to expel states with poor human rights records.//
Perhaps he means Pakistan, United Arab Emirates or Venezuela to name just 3.
Worth a read. Are some of these children being trafficked? Are some unaccompanied? Why was it not an issue when Obama was in charge?

What a load of old pony as usual from Gromit. No one is giving up on Human rights, I think we are giving up on the senseless organisations that profess to protect human rights and in fact do the opposite. Like our own "human rights" act, is continually used to protect criminal scum at the expense of our law abiding citizens. As usual Trump has seen through all the Liberal hand wringing and dealt with it.
All this outcry over Trump's separation of migrant children, isn't that what the African parents are doing with their children, taking into account the number they are sending across the Mediterranean unaccompanied?
I think that those children at the American border are being looked after much better than those African children could only hope to be.

There is something of a difference between being a parent too poor to raise your child, and sending them alone to a foreign country in the hope of a better life for them, because that is what you see as the only option for them, and being a President separating children from parents as a message that this is what will happen if you try and come to his country illegally.
Think about it.

The article appears to put a spin on things. I do not believe for a moment they can't devise a system whereby a unit claiming to be a family can't be held in a family camp. The kids have done nothing but follow their guardian's instructions, yet they aren't asked if the accompanying adult is family and allowed the comfort of remaining with them. It's justifying a harsh system because no one seems to want to set up a more humane one. And pointing the finger at possible other poor past activity doesn't justify not improving the system now.
Given that the US pays 22% of the UN and the UN funds 40% of the Council I can see why.
In addition the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) continues to act in complete contradiction of its mandate to protect human rights and reflects the cronyism and corruption of many of its member governments. In other words it is another Establishment talking shop for the cronies.
The Donald is draining the swamp. Good for him.

Is Mr (sorry, His Excellency) Feisal bin Hassan Trad still leader of the council?
