As has been said above highly unlikely that the real serious concerns will even start to get considered, even so releasing anyone convicted of these crime shas to be a nightmare for security services. On the other hand of course they could lead security services to the front door of those who have not yet come to their attention.

They did,
On 19 December 2013, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale were found guilty of the murder of Lee Rigby. The judge, Mr Justice Sweeney, said that he would pass sentence after a key appeal court ruling on the use of whole life terms. On 26 February 2014, both men were sentenced to life imprisonment. Adebolajo was given a whole life order excluding the possibility of parole, and Adebowale, the younger of the two, was given a minimum term of 45 years in prison.

normal day on AB then
what are we 'worrying' about ?
they did the crime and have done the time
we have tried indeteminate sentences and they didnt work
hey so lets - - - try them again ! and see if they work this time !
They rather obviously come into the category of POIs ( persons of interest ) and that gives the police wide powers ( basically to sit in their living room if they want )
we imprison peole for what they have done
not what they might do
that is imprisonment wivvart trial and we first legislated against that a long time ago
( clue - runnymede - 1215 and habeas corpus 1689)
yeah yeah a thousand ABers squeal - then we will all be nurdered in our beds!

I agree with Mamyalynne that the newspaper article has been misinterpreted by AOG. As has been established here, Butt is dead so is not going to be back on the streets, and Michael Adebolajo is not eligible for release this year. Nevertheless it is of course worrying that some of these terrorists were given such short sentences that there is even consideration of parole for any of them at this stage. I don't believe MI5 can keep track of these people closely enough. However unless we lock them up for ever (and I would find it hard to disagree) the issue of parole will arise at some stage unless they die in prison

Have they said they're sorry? Ah bless. It's an outrage that they're still inside. How can they possibly prove they won't try and cut anyone else's head off unless we let them out?

//One got a whole life tariff //
he did. but under article 3, that's not set in stone because it's not kosher for "whole life" to mean no possibility of release. so it will be reviewed at some stage. part of the reasoning for the whole life tariff was Mr Adebolajo's perceived in-rehabilitation. since when he's renounced his jihadi moniker and apologised. ok his release is unlikely - but never say never.....
