Spent hours yesterday trying to unravel a clingfilm that had gone wrong.
No use, drove me mad, nearly a full tube went in the bin. Put a another new one in the rack.
Today that one had gone wrong too. Knives, scissors and teeth did no good.
That went in the bin too.
Had to go to shops for more. See how long this one lasts!

I hate cling film. Horrid plastic stuff.
I know the feeling; that's why I don't buy it any more, I prefer to use tin foil.
Cling Film Grrrr!

Yep, Sellotape as well.
Not bought it for years for that reason, nightmare stuff.
Sellotape is easy, just fold the end after use.
I hate sellotape too. It does not do as you want it to. It has a devious mind of its own.
Mamyalynne Sellotape is easy, just fold the end after use.

I know, Mamya. Mrs av is always telling me and I always forget.
I avoid CL like the plague and use foil and parchment wherever possible.
I have given up on cling film as well.
Folk have problems with it ?
Like Caran, I have thrown away far mor than I have ever used. I was lucky if I got a single strip off it before it went tits up.

OH even sawed off 2" where it was tangled, but no use.
Never, ever had a problem with the stuff.
I keep the clingfilm in the fridge and rarely have a problem with it - can't remember where I got that tip from but it works.
Its cheap clingfilm that's the problem, spend a few more pennies.
I remember buying some stuff from Lakeland a long time ago and I must have spent enough for a free gift. The free gift was a clingfilm dispenser. I remember thinking that it was such a useless and unnecessary piece of tat - but it works really well.
It is a rectangle box the same length as a roll of clingfilm - obviously! But it has a ragged edge inside and a lid. When you open the lid the roll of cf is ready to use attached to the ragged edge (much the same as a sellotape dispenser) so you then place whatever you want to cover in front of the box and pull the cf out enough to cover it. Then when you snap the lid closed it cuts the cf off but retains the open end within the box ready for the next use.
I would never have bought it myself and have no idea how much it costs, but it is a great gadget!
This isn't the same as mine but it works in a similar way. Wish I had looked up a video before I tried to describe it!

Try lidls or aldis...theirs works. I hate the stuff but need to use it at work. Those 2 are the only ones that do what they are supposed to. Aldis foil is also good...really thick.

I have one of those dispensers on the wall that hold clingfilm, tinfoil and kitchen roll.
The second two work perfectly. It's just the cling film that suddenly snarls up. Trying to unravel it is a nightmare.
Question Author
A lot of the clingfilm and tinfoil rolls are too long to fit in wallmounted dispensers.
I felt a bit of an idiot using a tape measure on the packs in the shop today. Quite often I have bought what I think is a bargain only to get it home and find it doesn't fit the dispenser. So OH has to saw off a portion of it.
