Is anyone else getting tired of the constant coverage on TV especially the BBC and the celebrities gushing and swooning over it all? There has even been church services to give thanks, so it has actually become a religion and woe betide anyone who criticizes it. It's becoming embarrassing. You would think we are the only country that provides health care.

I don't watch it....it was bound to be a Party Political broadcast extolling the virtues of the NHS with none of it's deficiencies.
Yes, it's all a bit of a nonsense really.

And what all of them fail to be realising is without total reform it will implde and there wont be one.

I think we are so lucky in this country to have the NHS. I know it’s not perfect, but when I think of the nightmare cost of trearment in the USA for example, or the lack of care in other countries, I give heartfelt thanks.
No. I think it's something to be celebrated.
I've really enjoyed lots of the TV coverage, there have been some great reminders of the progress that's occurred over the decades.
My complaint is how the NHS has been lauded over health in other countries of which their health care is as good as anything the NHS can provide and in many cases better.
Some of the criticisms of other countries health care by some Brits has been misinformed and totally unacceptable.
" the nightmare cost of trearment in the USA for example"

Yup, that is why you buy a policy. Although usually paid for by the company (I had medical and dental paid) the cost is far less than many pay in tax for the NHS.

Although the NHS has made advances, so have other countries Health companies.
Where the NHS is failing big time is:
Failure to reform from top down
Massive management
Massive and bloated admin
Beyond useless procurement
Treating people around the world
Treating our new visitors (in and out the EU) and extended families when they haven't paid in enough, if at all.
Funding non health treatments such as sex changes, bigger/smaller boobs, IVF etc etc.

And then on top of this we dont have enough to look after our elderly who have mostly paid in all their life.

It really is no longer the panacea for health it once was.
^^^^^
PLUS we (NHS) is well down the survival table in cancer and heart disease.
Unfortunately so sqad.
I am not getting tired of it because I am not watching it because it makes me angry. I am a retired clinical professional and NHS manager and I can tell you that all the clinical staff are not hardworking dedicated angels, that all the treatment is not wonderful, that all the managers are not idle bloated good for nothings. As a user of the services and relative of users, I have seen good service and terrible service, the terrible so bad I still can't speak calmly about it....and while we allow the "its so wonderful" and "all nurses are angels" poisonous rubbish to be peddled nothing will improve.
I little off topic but I was born just before the NHS started, did the parents pay for the birth and how much would it have cost?
