This latest US President has done more for World peace than any past Presidents.
What would some rather him do, sabre rattle with Russia and North Korea or seek better relationships with them?

Yeah!! Go for it! Another opportunity for a Trump hate-fest! I’ve long ceased to be bemused by the exaggerated ramblings of the anti-Trump brigade - rather the whole dishonest bandwagon leaves me pretty much disgusted every time it rolls by - which has been practically every day for the past couple of years. Example, “This is a man who disgracefull y...

"One of the most disgraceful performances ever by a US president"
says respected right wing Republican John McCain
"Treasonous" - a former head of the CIA
Trump has a very unusual idea of patriotism.
America first?
The truth is Trump puts himself first, America's enemies second and her friends last.

AOG - // What would some rather him do, sabre rattle with Russia and North Korea or seek better relationships with them? //
Seeking better relationships is always preferable to sabre rattling.
But that doesn't mean that because the President this Mr Putin is a good guy, that means it must be so.
Especially when flying in the confirmed evidence of his own security advisers, people who make their living from finding out about hostile foreign activity, including that of Russia.
President Trump is someone who puts his own personal impressions and feelings above hard evidence, and that is not the way experienced politicians behave - which of course President Trump is not.
This is a man who disgracefully maligned the British Prime Minister in a national British tabloid, and then denied what he had said as 'fake news' even though the paper has a transcript of his interview!
The fact that you think this immature egotistical arrogant idiot deserves defending is frankly beyond belief.

I think you can see your answer in the posts above AOG.
The Donald could cure cancer, solve world hunger and create everlasting peace and most of the above would still be scoffing.
True he is very odd at times but looking at the end result I think I can put up with that.
After all if he gets all the liberal elite in a lather all the time he must be doing something right!

The best bit of this news conference was when Putin piped up "I belive in facts"
Almost as funny as "This latest US President has done more for World peace than any past Presidents. "
On certain substantive issues, however, there was not the progress either might have wished for. Plainly Putin's not going to/can't help Trump in his attempts to stir a war with Iran, and it was also clear that Putin won't get any concessions on Crimea - yet.
In fact the whole thing was largely a show: one that will hugely benefit Putin and severely damage Trump at home: his outrageous burbling when put on the spot about "do you believe your security servises or Putin" will come back to haunt him should he stand for reelection in 2020. It would need to be a supremely incompetent Democratic opponent who failed to make capital out of that.

This wasn't quite Trump's Munich Agreement, but it sort of feels like a prelude to that. Putin got probably everything from that summit he wanted, and it seemed that Trump was happy to keep on giving. Nothing about the Novichok attacks. Basically nothing said about Crimea. Nothing about the 2016 election interference -- Trump said, in front of the world, that he believed Putin over his own intelligence agencies.
What else do you expect, other than mocking, for that sort of display?

And what, pray, is your take on what the "end result will be (!)"
"After all if he gets all the liberal elite in a lather all the time he must be doing something right! "
Whatever he is doing it certainly is a million miles from curing cancer etc etc (!).
Trump behaves like a ***, because he is A ***. And that's why he gets flak. It ain't rocket science. Giving succour to people who hate "the liberals" is about all he can do to be honest :-)
"That is why I like Trump: he annoys people I don't like ( ...and most of the people I do like, but we'll conveniently ignore that) "

"Nothing about the Novichok attacks"
Well Mr Trump is representing the USA not GB and to boot many are not too sure the Novichok attacks are Russian since it is far to amateurish. Plus seems to pop up again when May is in a fix. Odd that.
"Basically nothing said about Crimea" What exactly do you want him to do on that?
"Nothing about the 2016 election interference"
At present I believe there are only allegations, should he point the finger on allegations?
And lets face it the Russians indicted was clearly done to embarrass Mr Trump given the timeing. No wonder he has no faith in the FBI and other agencies.

Not quite true jim, in fairness
Putin was asked about that, and in a rare moment that seemed to provide some clarity, stated quite openly that the US position was still that the annexation was illegal. And Putin, as he says, deals in facts, so it must be right :-)
