Personally I think this piece of scum should spend the rest of his life behind bars since it is most probable he will go and do it again to some child.

I had pretty must first hand experience of this when it came out in a close family I knew. Turned out one of the relatives had done it to 3 generations from a similar age as this. The devastation it causes is beyond words and leaves scars on the victims for life. In my opinion it is worse than "standard" rape because in these cases it is someone trusted and the victim feels they cannot tel anyone so just lives with it.

And that is why I think these savage monsters should live behind bars for the rest of their natural if we cant have the rope.

Not long enough at all.
yep, another one AH, savage should never see the light of day again. What an absolute bar steward.
I wonder if there isn't a case for harsher sentences for cases that involve abuse of trust, which would cover family members and friends; but that may already be the case. I assume a single incident would attract a much shorter sentence.

Now till 2027 is a long time, but I wouldn't object if it was a good deal longer.
Are Irish sentencing guidelines different to UK?
dunno about ireland but can they they not just give him N years for each offence to run consecutively? Then he'd be in forever.
As you rightly say, the absolute betrayal of trust deserves a very long time away.

What a wonderfully brave young woman.
Horrendous abuse by a person in a position of absolute trust......I am of the opinion that he should never see the outside world again..Having said that there really should be a medal for people who suffer as his daughter did for years and still overcame all the emotions involved as a result of her abuse and behaved so courageously in reporting it
He's already serving 8 years for abusing the two younger daughters. If this sentence is tagged onto the end he could be away for a long time.
Wonder why the mother didn't do something .Abusing all three daughters. She must have noticed something.
Andres - you think they do it openly?
It seems to happen behind closed doors and "our little secret" , no one will believe you, and so on. Should never see freedom again imo.
Good God --no . Of course they don't do it openly but don't you think that a mother's instincts would tell her something was wrong. For goodness sake ,I can understand one child and the ''our little secret'' but not three daughters. The mother must either have had no motherly instincts whatsoever or she must have been terrified of the husband .
...and he looks as though butter wouldn't melt.
Andres - Or maybe she was at work all day, came home to do the housework, cook dinner etc etc.

Don't blame the mother!
'Nads off and breaking rocks for the rest of his natural since nothing more draconian is available.

One can dream.
Things like this just make me want to cry. Just look at her brave, lovely face and the horror of what that piece of human filth did to her will be with her always. Makes me so grateful for the wonderful Dad I had. Should have got double the 18 years imo.
as ummmm says - blame the person who did it, not the person who didn't.
An appalling, hateful little coward & a brave young woman has ensured he's locked up for a good while at least.

"Life" to mean behind bars for the rest of his would feel right to me.
My God, the poor lady. I hope and pray she can live the rest of her life in peace and happiness now. 18 years is NOT enough!
No. 18 years is not enough, by any means. He'll still be a danger to girls if he gets out, so he should stay in there til he rots.
I don't think that we will receive a very warm welcome from many of the other prisoners...Oh well, that's too bad.
