I just hear on the news that 28 woman a month have to travel from Northern Ireland to England/Scotland/Wales for legal terminations.
132 MP's nationwide are now calling for terminations to be legalised in Northern Ireland but apparently if this goes ahead one of the political parties have threatened devolution.
Now would it be a bad thing for devolution to fail and for women to have this right?

Again, a problem caused when religion gets involved in politics. Not sure what the best option is but choice v pro life is always a very emotive subject.

Nothing will happen because the DUP, who have a voting agreement with May’s UK Government (and are effectively keeping it in power) are against abortion in NI.
If Arlene Foster says ‘No’, then May obeys. A tail wagging the dog scenario as just 10 MPs are dictating policy.

Hardly the best time for bringing the issue onto the stage. Those wanting to kill off their pregnancy have the option stated; considering/discussing changing the law now isn't a priority.

They don't want legislation passed in a British parliament that would affect NI.
Still, people vote for thse parties, so they can't really complain

Yest another result of Mr Blair's ridiculous "devolution" arrangements. It is absolutely outrageous that different primary laws apply in different parts of the UK. I don't know why they are worried about a customs border in the Irish Sea when this sort of thing prevails.

It’s absoloutly outrageous that women can still find themselves accidentally pregnant in 2018. Rape cases excepted, of course.

I don’t consider pointing out that it’s 2018 and that I’m frankly shocked that an average of 28 women a month want abortions to be nit-picking. It’s a sad indictment on a country when this can happen. Education and a move into the 21st century is required.

A great many more than 28 abortions a month are performed on 'the mainland'. Education, and contraception, are readily available there.

Nothing to do with devolution. N Ireland has separate laws on certain things and always has had.
