It's impossible not to have a bad taste in one's mouth reading this; nevertheless, the principle of legal aid, certainly earlier in their legal battle, is surely one worth preserving. They were entitled to defend themselves, owing to presumption of innocence, and we clearly cannot countenance a world where only the well-off can mount a legal defence.

I should assume, anyway, that the money is ultimately going to the lawyers rather than to the men concerned.

that control/end their right to legal aid
if the case is estimated to be a non-starter

what is their excuse?

you would think they would be keen to leave, i wonder why they want to remain...could it be the benefits system nhs etc, i think so.

I can't quite make this out, it says that they have lost their appeal against deportation, yet if deportation orders are signed against them, the three men will have the right to appeal on human rights grounds.

In the past violent drug dealers, for example, have used this to successfully argue against being sent back to their homelands.

My family is being hounded by a Bangladeshi fighting deportation and funded by legal aid.
Article 8 of the ECHR is the culprit.
We Brits count for nothing.
Yes we need a strong leader to sort out this mess.
We could provide a,"Pound Shop," cheap legal aid system for illegals. That would save us money.
Anybody who could string a sentence together could represent them.
