Mine consisted of jumping rivers, making dams, rope swings, bike rides, fishing in the canal, footy with jumpers for goalposts, cricket with a cork ball & stumps made from an old tv aerial.
Never confronted an adult, gobbed-off to a copper or threatened a teacher because the consequences from ones parents for such pathetic and inexcusable behaviour didn’t bear thinking about.
Oh the halcyon days.....

I’ve not even looked at the link, just making my own observations in regards to the first line of the OP question.
I see it often enough in work, one recent instance being a 16-17 year old princess, heavily pregnant, swearing and shouting with all her lairy friends in the hospital foyer. How sad is it that a 65 year old lady behind the counter in the WRVS dining area has to tell them off(which they found hysterical) and ban them from using the facilities?
Some think they’re in a playground or their own back yard, not a hospital.
A few weeks earlier some were fighting at the front door, adolescent girls again, arguing over who should or shouldn’t be visiting their friend as they were the first to see it on Facebook.
Pathetic.
