Google Mau Mau uprising, AOG. Plenty to choose from.
Annie and Clarabel, the carriages could be very naughty. There was a Japanese engine called Hiro I remember and there are now quite a few female locos.
In AOG we have our very own Sir Topham Hatt. :-)

Is Sir Topham Hatt still referred to as the fat controller, or is that non PC?
I don't think it's mentioned as much with the latest incumbent Sit Stephen, but then I rarely watch now.

Instead of changing existing books to make them multicultural, why don't they write new books and leave the old books alone? They are trying to change our history.
They aren't exactly changing anything of old, simply adding new characters and adventures.

Children love new and exciting, the old books are still there for us to read with them.

They've updated most of the ones I grew up with but I can still access my old dusty copies of Rupert annuals for example.
the shortlisted companies in the running to build HS2 trains were Alstom Transport, Bombardier Transportation UK, Hitachi Rail Europe, Patentes Talgo and Siemens. You're going to have to get used to foreign trains, but you could always have a chat to them to improve their English.
What about disabled amputees?
