/// The government passed a law banning their use during the school day, with exceptions for disabled children and in case of an emergency. ///
They should not be banned altogether, in case any pupil needs to contact their parents etc.
Perhaps they could be collected by the teacher during school hours and returned at the end of the school day.

My son is in his early 30's, spath, and he neither took his mobile 'phone to school nor did he have two world wars and die from Chronic disease.....
It is entirely possible for parent/child communication to occur throughout the day without it being necessary for the child to carry their mobile 'phone around with them.
