recently used in the thread about India legalising sex among homosexuals, is society now wrong to even distinguish the kind of sex that may occur among consenting adults?

In correct speech it reads better, unfortunately for headline grabbing 'Gay Sex' is short and eye catching and to a point lazy.

No I don't think so, it describes the gender of each participant and the type of sex likely to be engaged in. It's merely, used correctly, an adjective.

If you are referring to a specific sexual act that is against the law - or being discussed in legal terms, you need to be able to identify it from other types of sex, in order to be clear to which type of sex you are referring.

By default, as the majority, heterosexual sex is known as 'sex', and 'gay sex' is the term used to refer to the minority of adults who prefer same-gender sex.

It's only clarity, not homophobia.

I like that. Surely hetro sex is fundamentaly used for making babies. Gay sex should really be described as mutual masturbation. Just thinking aloud really.

Well no because otherwise no-one would have sex unless they wanted to become pregnant and plenty of heterosexual people have anal sex as well. Mutual masturbation isn't gender specific, gay sex is.

Not at all accurately though - you need to educate yourself about gay relationships, and how they function.
