I hope the teachers, parents and any authoritarian figures around the pupils responsible make sure that they are punished.

How many times does it need to be said? Leave people and their stuff alone. You have no idea the reasons behind other peoples actions or thoughts.

It was a one on one incident - what a heartbreaking story - poor lad had so much to contend with already.

Plans for more awareness and the possible consequences is indeed called for.

Apparently the boy was very popular and had a number of conditions.. At secondary school i was aware (And still am!!) of all pupils who had a nut allergy let alone the popular ones. I think this whole situation is awful and i feel so gutted for his mum and family

God kidz do things ( to each other ) - because it was 'funny'

( events that spring to mind, years and years ago, a tyre inflation pipe shoved up a child's .... and inflated. Died from a ruptured lower gut. The prankster looked guilty and wouldnt talk.

Kids do stupid things because they don't appreciate what the consequences could be. The child that did this will have to live with the results of his actions. Of course he needs to be punished but for the intent not result of his actions.

Sometimes TTT it isn’t a case of prosecution. Were the boys systematically bullying the boy? Or was it high jinks gone tragically wrong?

Poor, poor lad. That's completely heartbreaking. I have no idea what to do with the kid responsible, he doubtless didn't intend him to die, but something needs to be done, however it is likely to haunt him all his life. I can't imagine what the boys family must be going through :(

'All babies are born totally selfish. Their needs are all they know. Education and parenting teaches them that others also have needs and deserve toleration.' I actually can't remember where I learnt that thought, but I am convinced that it is totally true.
Children can be horrible savages. I shudder when I hear of someone who wants to be a teacher because 'I love children'!!!
To be a teacher you need to want children to be tamed and directed and you need to believe very firmly that they all have the right to grow up into acceptable human beings with good values. That means you need to be tough. Sometimes, andy (rarely) that may need physical punishment and I admit that I would like that option to be available.

Failures all round. The poor, poor child (I have asthma). It really is appalling.
