.....DIY SOS......I know the programme and I have seen clips but never watched one through.

Hiding from the rain and wind we watched TV tonight and are so glad we did.

All those folk and companies giving their time, expertise and materials to create a home for a wonderful family was so heartwarming. The neighbours making thousands of cups of tea.

But it was the two guys who brought tears to my eyes........becoming dads to four children who need so much care and love is wonderful. To see the children so happy and the love that they are receiving lifted my spirits today........

Some days you just need to be reminded that there are lovely, kind and gentle people out there...today was one of those days and I am so glad I watched this programme......bliss indeed..... :-)

Yes - I’d never ever have watched this programme if I wasn’t stuck in an apartment with a carp old TV and only one watchable channel - but it was just wonderful and the couple looking after the wonky (as they called themselves) kids were brilliant and deserved all the praise and help that they got.

“Heart warming” can be an over-used phrase, but this truly was.
Didn't watch this episode Gness, but yes, always worthwhile causes.

I'll watch some more now, Eleena......just nice to see nice people and to see folk needing a hand being given one with such love....x
I had the pleasure (and pain) of meeting some people from the Make a Wish Foundation over the weekend. Likewise they were fantastic human beings. Most people are fabulous, I really do believe that, given the chance.
The helps always so appreciated by the receivers too gness.
Sorry, hi to Dave before I go.
Night Kval.
Dave waves to Eleena :)

xx
I didn't see it tonight. Sounds like heartwarming stuff. The beautiful side of humans....
Night night Eleena x
Tonight's was a repeat and I agree it was a brilliant one, most of them are - the previous two televised were lovely too.

Special projects for those at Grenfell, big projects too and so worthwhile.

Blimey, gness. It’s been on the box for years! It’s a lovely prog to watch.

I know, Chrissa......I'm far from snobby about TV but there aren't many programmes I watch. I'm a huge radio fan....plays and so on and books from Audible probably because I'm always doing something with my hands...knitting, sewing and so on and I love listening.
If I watch TV I tend to just be listening and then miss what's happening because I simply can't just sit......
I even find the cinema difficult because my friends won't let me take my crochet or knitting along!... :-)
:)) :))
Thank you for this thread, I had considered posting about this.
Like you, I don’t often catch this programme, but did so last night.
The total commitment, love and goodness of the couple who had built their family took my breath away.
The support given by their extended community would suggest that many people felt the same.
I was humbled by this expression of .......well, just pure love x
People are mostly good, given an opportunity . Have watched this on and off for years, they seem a nice crowd as well.
they are remarkable programmes and i have watched a fair few. The Grenfell two parter was brilliant, so much given for free, time, goods, and in the end wonderful
boxing gym and community hall for the residents.
