Shame. I’d like to think that it was succumbing to peer pressure in order to ‘fit in’, but then that would be a poor reflection on the other Guardsmen who are drug-free.
Just a reflection on modern society I guess.

yes, I saw that Chilli...........what a pity.
this is tragic...

"He told how he hoped it would be looked upon as a "new change in history""

Well... only thing we'll remember is his colourful urine
so "a number of guardsmen are under investigation" but only one is identified :(
Yes, a pity.Drug taking is not something I would associate with a Sikh.
Nor I danny. Maybe he was framed by someone wanting to rid of him?
I don't think recreational drugs should get you the sack. (unless you're taking them at work)
Spath: How do you frame someone to take a banned substance? It was found in his urine not his knicker draw.

I don't feel any pity for him at all. He was given a wonderful opportunity and wasted it. I do agree however that the others should be named and shamed. Its not fair his pic should be all over the news when others were involved.
I'm sure the MoD (or the queen, if it was her decisions) could easily set this up, depending on their views on the matter.

Or, someone could have administered a bit of 'sugar' in his morning coffee.

If someone had been taking recreational drugs let’s say, just prior to a day on the rifle range when I was an infantry soldier they’d have probably been butt-stroked by at least 6 other squaddies(butt-stroked is not a sexual term either, b fire the sniggers start).

'Sikh as a parrot' springs to mind.
Sikhs and drugs and rock and roll.

Well, they do call it marching powder!
If he'd been a pro cyclist he would have been thrown off the team for not sharing.
Why would the MoD set him up? Surely they would want to keep this guy in the Guards, he was their 'poster boy' for inclusiveness.

'Recreational Drug' makes it seem so much more acceptable doesn't it? Its a class A addictive stimulant drug and has no place in the British Army.
Douglas -best one yet lol!
Indeed ma'am, interferes with the amphetamines.
I'm not sure, Just a conspiracy.. Maybe because they legally had to let him join due to discrimination issues but when it came to the day the queen decided one man in a turban and the rest in Bearskin looked un uniformed and tacky. Maybe it ruined everything history has lead to.. Maybe it was just too much so they had to do something to get rid of him no questions.

Or maybe i'm wrong
Chilli. I believe the army used to dole out amphetamine type drugs to squaddies. I take it they don't now?
Did I read that LSD was developed by the US army?
You can lead a horse to a conclusion but you can't make it sensible.
