Shame. I’d like to think that it was succumbing to peer pressure in order to ‘fit in’, but then that would be a poor reflection on the other Guardsmen who are drug-free.

I don't feel any pity for him at all. He was given a wonderful opportunity and wasted it. I do agree however that the others should be named and shamed. Its not fair his pic should be all over the news when others were involved.

I don't think recreational drugs should get you the sack. (unless you're taking them at work)

If someone had been taking recreational drugs let’s say, just prior to a day on the rifle range when I was an infantry soldier they’d have probably been butt-stroked by at least 6 other squaddies(butt-stroked is not a sexual term either, b fire the sniggers start).
I'm not sure, Just a conspiracy.. Maybe because they legally had to let him join due to discrimination issues but when it came to the day the queen decided one man in a turban and the rest in Bearskin looked un uniformed and tacky. Maybe it ruined everything history has lead to.. Maybe it was just too much so they had to do something to get rid of him no questions.
Chilli. I believe the army used to dole out amphetamine type drugs to squaddies. I take it they don't now?
