Yeah, it's called Godwin's law, but it's been superseded by Ludwig's law which states any mention of Hitler on any thread on the internet will be followed by some tawt pointing out that Hitler's been mentioned.

As for Cromwell I am not too bothered about him, but I dont see why a statue needs to come down because a few people object. There are statues of people I dont like but I would never push my views on someone and get them removed.

Which is why anyone vandalising a statue needs to be charged accordingly. Campaigning to have one taken down, or indeed erected is a different thing.

It was erected in 1899. Some here might regard it as relatively new but it is ancient to a young chit of a thing like me.
Incidentally, it is ironic that ,if you study the masonry on the Palace yard side of the Palace of Westminster you will observe shrapnel damage compliments of the Luftwaffe. If the latter day Nazis left Olly alone why should our modern home grown Taliban wish to attack it?

Removing a statue isn't airbrushing or changing history. It just means we change who and what we celebrate over time.
