What's in a name? The DPRK is, after all, hardly democratic. Would be, therefore, crass in the extreme to compare, say, the Democratic Party of the US with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
//Mr Tajani replied: "Seventy years of peace have existed in Europe since the two horrible dictatorships and that is due to the European Union//
So the EU was formed in 1948? I didn't know that.
Why should he apologise? They are not slow in calling 'right wingers' Neo Nazis.
It was only called national socialism by those spreading fake news. Everyone knows it had nothing to do with socialism, national or otherwise. So of course he should apologise for trying to taint socialism with a comparison to the Nazis. I know what he needs a bang on.
"They are not slow in calling 'right wingers' Neo Nazis."

Maybe not, but does anyone think that the Nazis were not far right ? Not so insulting then, then.
Well it was a silly comment and he’s apologised.
There are indeed a lot of oddly named groups around.
Russia’s ‘opposition’ Liberal Democrats are good example also.
And the Green party : not literally green ;-)
They were the German Worker's Party or something similar, OG, before becoming the NZ's.

/// It was only called national socialism by those spreading fake news. ///

Who might those be OG?

Here is Wikipedia's description.

/// National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus), more commonly known as Nazism (/ˈnɑːtsiɪzəm, ˈnæt-/),[1] is the ideology and practices associated with the Nazi Party – officially the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP) – in Nazi Germany, and of other far-right groups with similar
aims. ///
"but does anyone think that the Nazis were not far right ? "

Yes me. They were evil but many things they did - like peoples holidays, peoples car (Volkswagen) are more akin to communist ideology although depending on how you view politics extreme left and extreme right are very similar.
Question Author
quite right, YMB, they adopted many aspects of socialism, in fact you could say they are the only ones ever to make socialism a success. Without all the warmongery who knows how successful they could have been.
"Who might those be OG?"

Anyone who is reasonable. It's blatantly clear socialism is a left wing political view whilst the Nazis were far right. Or do you believe they were closet commies ?
Question Author
yes OG but do you not accept that they did adopt many socialist methods?
