Javid was perfectly correct in calling the convicted groomers as Asian. They clearly were. A more accurate description might have been ‘predominantly Pakistani’ and then Indians and Bangladeshis are not falsely tarnished with the same brush.
Javid’s use of the term ‘no go areas’ was completely wrong and should not have been used. No one has suggested that there are no go areas in Huddesfield. There aren’t.

Why Javid wants to mislead his Twitter followers is up to him. He knows his own followers and what will interest them.
Looks like the nasty party are at it again AOG, instead of agreeing with the Home Sec over these vile Asian grooming gangs, he chooses to attack the man instead. Pretty standard stuff from TROB, terrified of offending their Muslim friends.
Since the groomers are overwhelmingly Pakistani Muslims, Khan is right to criticise Javid for referring to them as ‘Asian’. That’s an insult to Asians as a whole. As someone who condemns criticism of FGM as a hate crime Khan’s agenda is clear. He’s a dangerous man who has no place in public office.

/// No one has suggested that there are no go areas in Huddesfield. ///

You are right even Sajid Javid hasn't specifically mentioned Huddesfield, but I think you will find that he was referring to other parts of the UK, including London.

But then lets take Huddersfield for example, it would seem it is certainly a 'no go area' for young white girls.
Naomi, they were Asian, how else could they be described. He can't be expected to describe every single one in terms of their nationality.
Yes, they were Asian ... predominately Pakistani Muslims.
Revolting little man and Sad Dick isn't any better.

Therefore Khan was not right to criticise Javid for referring to them as ‘Asian’.
‘Asian’ is the one catchall description that fits so he is right : on this occasion I’d be siding with the Home Secretary who actually I think has carefully NOT done what the mayor is accusing him of

If playing to the far-right means telling them the truth, then I think our politicians should play to them more often.
Describing them simply as Asian serves to diminish culpability – but perhaps Javid, as the son of Pakistani Muslims, also has an agenda.

Isn't our Home secretary also Asian?
aog, what's your point?
Naomi, your antipathy to a certain nationality is beginning to show.
How does describing them as Asian diminish their culpability? (ichkeria stares over the abyss of the Ever Decreasing Circle of Argument leading to the Pit of Unreason)
Really Danny? Where people like these groomers are concerned, I hadn't realised I'd hidden it. Despicable creatures.

It was in answer to you stating that perhaps Javid who is the son of Pakistani Muslims, also has an agenda, thus trying to take the light from Pakistani Muslims as a whole.
ichkeria, why ask a question that is likely to shove you into an "abyss of the Ever Decreasing Circle of Argument leading to the Pit of Unreason"? Far be it from me to lead you into something like that.
What is your point Spath?.
