Was there ever any doubt about this (except in volume 94 of "Project Fear").
No wonder I didn't know about that, I only got up to volume 93 ;-)
yeah of course there was as we were threatening to throw out everyone who was not a christian blue eyed aryan ...

remember it is the perception not the reality
fear has a large part in perception and perhaps very little contact with reality

just as new Judge - the govt waggles its finger at the judiciary and says - don't be too independent or something very vile will happen to your pensions !

of course they wont do that - - - will they?
The poles next to me
who have just produced a lovely liddle polka-brit ( that's a baby for you thickos) said

well we had to pick up sticks and uproot ourselves from Poland
so if the british govt make life difficult for us
we will just go somewhere else
( remember we have done it before and know how to do it)
hey there was a funny teevee prog

where a whitehall official was being nailed to the wall on the obvious, and he said:
"legal guarantee of residency in a statute?" and then he spluttered:
" but the prime minister of the country has SAID they could stay - is that not enough for listeners?"
and there was complete silence in the studio from the audience

[yeah you will find that in ch 95]
Other than a few uninformed people saying it, I don’t think there was ever any talk of throwing non nationals out.
no - ( as in right !)

Well, in PP's world at least.
safe from what? What are you worried about? I don't understand the question.
It means that British Pensioners living in Spain , can carry on soaking up the sunshine with their G/Ts . Bet that has upest TGT.
Why would that upset any one Gulliver? People can carry on as they are now. Nothing wrong with that.
Question Author
Actually, gulliver1, our pensions are Spanish, having worked here and contributed for 40 odd years, but I never changed my nationality, never felt the need to and still am proud to be English, so there was a slight concern aabout what would happen with this brexit.
17.58 Samuraisan good luck to you all, no matter where your pensions come from , you have earned it now enjoy it.
"still am proud to be English" - right oh!
The OP's link is to a story about British nationals in the EU. PP's link is to a story about EU nationals in Britain. The discussion seems to wander off track a bit.
The anxiety among some expats was brought about not by 'project fear', but by the stupid mishandling by Teresa May and her hapless team, none of whom have any past experience of real negotiation.

She stated straight away that all EU nationals in the UK would be allowed to remain as they are. The EU said nothing, except to itself "good, we'll have that".

The sensible way to have negotiated, was not to make a promise, but to have, at the outset, asked the question; "If we promise protection to your's, will you reciprocate with ours?" thereby making them come up with a statement and a commitment.
