Yet again, up in arms over, nothing really.. Diverting from the topic at hand to make it about something, you wish it was about. I see correlations between this and the issue in the OP.
No they're not 'trollopy' but the point is M&S clearly think they're a bit riske and are perpetuating the (not completely untrue) myth that women are at their most powerful when on their knees ( usually in front of an executive suited and booted man :/
It's all dated rollux.
M&S knew exactly what they were doing when they arranged these window displays. All this free publicity.
You stated that people should got upset should stay indoors - well in this case it is women who are upset - so I took it one step further. However your attitude towards women is quite shocking actually.
The point is that it is OK for women to impress in trollopy knickers but men have to be in cashmere coats and shirts and trousers - Equality? Where?
"it is women "

What ALL women?
kvalidir, //M&S clearly think they're a bit riske and are perpetuating the (not completely untrue) myth that women are at their most powerful when on their knees ( usually in front of an executive suited and booted man :/ //

Crikey! That's some imagination you have there! If that's what M&S are perpetuating, the money they've spent on advertising was wasted on me!

I reckon this complaint comes from sour women with huge bums and thighs who couldn't get one leg in those knickers if they tried. Another load of politically correct rubbish.
the two displays clearly have two different slogans next to them
the slogan on the males display and what they're wearing correlates to the female display, if you check my links above ^^ you'll see that.
I don't think there is any complaint about women wanting pretty underwear....its the juxtaposition of the two windows and the implication that the essentials for men are sharp suits and power clothing and the essentials for women are pretty underwear.
Naomi, RR is claiming "the women" (IE, women in general ALL women) are offended, are you offended?
i didn't get this kind of response on my thread, it was somewhat less vitriolic.
There is no juxtaposition on a whole though, maybe in that one eye shot.

Emmie cus this complaint is pathetic and energy is being wasted on even catering to this womans overly sensitive emotions.
spath, no, I am not offended... not in the least.
Well damn.. I got the impression that this offended "the women". Would you not be part of "the women" or are you an individual that decides for yourself if you're offended?
They have presented it piecemeal in that window display and that's why it jars for some.

Top video on this page gives you an idea of the wider campaign.

There are certainly some oversensitive emotions and vivid imaginations on display on this thread, aren't there?
spath, I never did run with the crowd and I've never been a member of 'the sisterhood' - whatever that may mean. I like pretty underwear - and I like well-dressed men. The advert is fine by me.
Good answer N
