the subject of drones has been aired before in this forum, with the majority consensus being that the authorities should stop being drama queens, grow some and let drone flyers get on with managing their own affairs.
so would it be fair to say that AB consider Gatwick Airport to have "over reacted" last night?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.They are not going to go away, so I think owners should have to have a licence and pass a test just like owning a car or motorbike. They should then have registered serial numbers, so the owner can be traced and an age limit on ownership - just like a motor bike.
Licence fees would also be a nice little earner for the government, and also reduce the amount of them.

Gatwick Airport has not over-reacted. Its an ongoing thing apparently the Police are trying to find the operator who keeps disappearing the drone then it reappears somewhere else.
I find this disturbing considering the billions of pounds we spend on defence, an idiot with a drone can close down an airport. I could have probably popped it with a shotgun, though not sure how high these things go, they should be banned.
In the summer our horses were going mental in the field, turns out some richard cranium was flying a drone over the field but ' I'm in the countryside what harm can that do' ? Ban them.
