My god. That's shocking.
I read that earlier. Grim!
Awful awful situation but one thankfully I would imagine is very rare so not really a true representation of the US private health services
Horrific, but I imagine that could happen anywhere in the world if you have a sicko working in a facility like that. hope they do a DNA test on the baby and catch the ***. Poor kid though what a way to enter the world when he finds out :(
that was a storyline on Law and Order Special Victims Unit last year
Appalling - but very unfair to claim it to be private health service, US style.
It happens it happens in the NHS, probably so often that it is not worth reporting.
There you go Canary......

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/dec/31/sexual-violence-soars-uk-hospitals

and it is reported that 90% go unreported.

How about Jimmy Saville's contribution?
I'm sure it does Sqad, but I think things of that magnitude are always worth reporting. We need very high standards of care for our most vulnerable and any normalising of behaviour such as this needs dealing with severely. x
Kvali......I agree and I think that they ALL go reported, but not necessarily to the media.
I think that Canary is making a Political point rather than a moral one.......I may be wrong;-)
I'm sure he is Sqadi, as is his wont :/
//I think that Canary is making a Political point rather than a moral one//

I agree - and a pretty poor one.
sqad, show me a case of an NHS patient in a veg state getting pregnant.
TTT....I can't, but that doesn't mean that there isn't one, as i have said, they tend not to be reported to the media.
Speculation Sqad?
sqad a case like this would be reported. Sure there are sexual assaults in the NHS but this is an order of magnitude worse than those.
how would it get into the media TTT?
// Appalling - but very unfair to claim it to be private health service, US style.//
your tory credentials showing there Nigh
but too true !

jimmy saviles bruvva was done for assaulting challenged patients and did time

and at least one other case described ( also Land of the Free)

am I the only person to read these things and think - oh year there were a few cases fifty years ago nothing new?

one thing tho' both times the patients were vegetative and no one really noticed the swelling. Ladies reading this will know that when you get pregant you know well you swell out da front. And no doctor saw the patient and said 'oo-er a swelling from the pelvis is a baby until proven otherwise. This implied these people were not really under medical supervision

[ sozza a bit of a long post there - the gist is that an attending doctor should er know when a patient is pregnant - you know before it pops out of the belly button or something]
TTT ALL sexual assaults in hospitals are unacceptable......NHS and Private, both systems have had multiple examples and it would be difficult to say, that this hasn't occurred in the NHS.

Yes....speculation.
sqad: "TTT ALL sexual assaults in hospitals are unacceptable..." - who said they wern't?
