Berlusconi resigned in pretty much disgrace (private life aside) because of the financial state of Italy under his watch and there were crowds of protesters, the Italian electorate, jeering him when he resigned. He now says he intends to stand for the European Parliament.

The EU is simply not democratic and will only get worse. It is Germany achieving through stealth what it failed to do with 2 world wars. And the liberal elite love facilitating it, usually because their snots are deep in the trough. Shame on them.
