I've always considered Porsche to be womens cars (Sorry for the un PC bit) but most women I know can always spot a bargain. So its not going to help them putting it up 10%... but if they can afford them, no problem.

Volvo are also considering something similar, but it comes as a surprise the BBC think it is news, given that WTO rates have been widely discussed for months now. If a 10% tariff is added to the sale price, obviously manufacturers who export cars to the UK will need to charge more. It was one of the reasons for the £60m sweetener to keep Nissan here. The scary thing is the potential for 35% tariffs on dairy products, although I hope this was misreported; I have seen 10% quoted as more likely and that would be in line with cars.

I tend to think of high end stuff as things most people don’t need that costs the Earth and when we see it tend to say they have more money than sense.

I don’t begrudge anything to anyone who has either earned it or deserve it but I have no sympathy for a Porsche going up in price.

We've had 2 (admittedly not new ones) I found then uncomfy but imagine they're better now.

Agreed Mamy, I prefer my Nissan to OH's Porche, however people earn their money and rightly spend it on what they want to spend it, money or sense aside, after they are taxed exorbitantly. The more you earn the more bloody tax you already pay ;/
