I wonder if she will get a sentence similar to what a man would get for doing such an awful thing?

I would have liked to see her get much longer, and it's true, the only stigma about male abuse comes from other males, women are almost universally supportive of the victim ( barring one atrocity of a woman I read about the other day). I would also like to see serious domestic abuse sentences increased generally across all genders though.
I can't agree that domestic violence against men is being ignored. There are several charities and the issue has attracted a lot of media attention during the past few years, for example Corrie did an excellent long running story line which brought it to the viewers attention and got coverage in the press.
Yes, it has lagged behind DV against women but the reality is that domestic violence against anyone was largely ignored until arond 40 years ago - the world's first refuge for women and their children was opened in the UK in 1971.
Even during the 80s it was very difficult for women to get their abusive boyfriends and husbands charged and prosecuted but thankfully things are improving, for victims of both sexes.

Worth got 2 x 7 years for GBH with intent to run concurrently. She only got 6 months for the controlling and coercive behaviour charge to run consecutively.
I havent been able to find any figures on how many women have been sentenced under the reasonably new coercive behaviour law (came in Dec 2015) but there have only been 235 successful prosecutions in total.
She is a thoroughly nasty piece of work and I hope he makes a full recovery from the physical, mental and emotional abuse he has suffered.
