If a couple of lesbians went through a marraige ceremony which is possible here in Spain what would happen if one of them then wanted to marry a man (for whatever reason). Would the gay marriage count, or could she just go ahead with another wedding??Would she have to divorce her female partner first?

Oh I wish Vinny. Was just wondering about a couple I know who are moving from Spain to America. Well they cannot live there without a green card, so I wondered if one or the other married an american (maybe our Ed!!)male to be legally in USA, even though they were still with their same sex partner, would that be bigamy. We've had 80 gay couple married on this island thios year since the law came in so I guess it's legally binding.
I'm a wedding co-ordinator and the new laws are there so same sex couples are given the same legal rights as mixed sex ones. Up until now even in long standing gay relationships neither partner was entitled to tax benifits, pension rights nor could they inherit anything if one partner died. The same sex marriage is a legal and binding contract just as the mixed sex one is. So the answer is 'yes' she would have to obtain a divorce.
